Thursday 18th April was the official launch of Clydebuilt 5 at the Art Club in Glasgow. Poets Ellen McAteer, Maggie Rabatski, Vicki Husband and myself, were led by our mentor Alexander Hutchison at a special Mirrorball reading.
Sandy kicked off the evening by launching his new pamphlet, Tardigrade, from which he read passages throughout the night’s proceedings.
It’s published by Dorothy Lawrenson at Perjink Press (http://www.dorothylawrenson.com/perjink/) and is well worth a read.
The first half of the CB5 night consisted of Ellen and Maggie reading from their work. Ellen has been very busy lately, and you can catch up with her at: http://ellenmcateer.com/
Maggie has a new pamphlet out, too. It’s called Holding and it’s from New Voices Press. You can find more about Maggie at:
In the second half, Vicki and I read our work. Vicki has made it onto the shortlist for the Pighog/Poetry School pamphlet competition. We are all tremendously pleased for her and wish her luck with the next stage.
She blogs at: http://vickihusband.wordpress.com/
And that was about it. A great night, hosted by Jim Carruth, the St Mungo Mirrorball commander in chief. We have had a marvellous year as mentees under Sandy’s stewardship, and owe the Clydebuilt Apprenticeship Scheme an enormous thank you.
